</p><p>Yesterday my girlfriend wanted to buy a Weber BBQ. These things are amazing. They&#8217;re a small, very efficient BBQ that cooks your meat, fish, whatever&#8230; to perfection.</p>
<p>Anyway, it was Sunday afternoon, off we went to the BBQ shop. The shop owner started to tell us about each of the different models but my girlfriend&#8230; her name is Gerri&#8230; had already done all the research using her Ipad on the internet and knew exactly what she wanted.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ll have that one&#8221;, she said. &#8220;Great choice&#8221; said the shop owner&#8230; &#8220;unfortunately the last one was sold just 10 minutes ago. We&#8217;ll have more stock during the week.&#8221;</p>
<p>This wasn&#8217;t going as expected. When Gerri gets it in her mind to buy something she fully intends to walk out with it under her arm. Tonights BBQ was already defrosting on the sink back home. Our thoughts of enjoying a pleasant evening with great food cooked on the BBQ was fast disappearing.</p>
<p>Not to worry I thought. Let&#8217;s go to another shop. We jumped back into the car, Gerri turned on her Ipad ready to check out the internet for other shops in the area.</p>
<p>Easily found&#8230; a quick telephone call to check if the model she wanted was in stock&#8230; Yes, it was.</p>
<p>A few hours later we&#8217;re enjoying the BBQ dinner.</p>
<p><strong>So what&#8217;s this got to do with you?</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s a great example of how people are using the internet. People use the internet to research products and services, to FIND relevant information.</p>

</p><p>I&#8217;ve just completed another Salon Success Website for one of my clients and I was just doing a regular review of the salon online system that has been setup.</p>
<p>I wanted to check where online visitors were coming from and what they were searching for to find her business.</p>
<p>So I went and checked the <strong>Google Places</strong> data for her business. It tells me the amount of times the business was &#8220;shown&#8221; in Google search results and the amount of times visitors clicked on their business listing.</p>
<p>Google Places is a fantastic tool for salons and when setup correctly it can be a very effective way to get NEW clients into your business.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s really cool with this tool. When combined with your salon website, you can quickly get listed BEFORE your direct competition (those in your LOCAL area) and ATTRACT MORE clients into your Salon.</p>
<p>PLUS, you can get some very valuable information on what prospective clients in your area are looking for!</p>
<p><strong>Let me show you.</strong></p>
<p>Below is a screenshot of the TRAFFIC data for my clients business.<br />

<p>The <span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong>blue</strong></span> line is the amount of times her business was shown in search results that prospective clients searched in Google for.</p>
<p>The <strong><span style="color: #008000;">green</span></strong> line is the amount of times these prospective clients &#8220;clicked&#8221; on her business listing. That is, they actually wanted MORE information about her Salon.</p>
<p><strong>That&#8217;s a genuine &#8220;LEAD&#8221; for her business.</strong> It&#8217;s a prospective NEW client wanting to know details of her Salon.</p>
<p>The data you see covers a period of 1 month up to today. If I just look at the week leading up to Christmas, I can see that <strong>16 people clicked through</strong> for more details on her business.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s GOOD news. 16 prospective NEW clients!</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what else I can see. From the 24th December up to today, there has been no traffic at all. Even allowing for some delay in updates of the data, you can see that traffic drops off considerably from Christmas to New Year. I&#8217;m expecting that people are on holidays and not doing much online searching for this type of business.</p>
<p><strong>Now here&#8217;s another COOL feature of Google Places.</strong></p>
<p>Down the bottom of the data is<em> &#8220;Top Search Queries&#8221;</em>. You can see that the number 1 query is the term &#8220;day spa&#8221;. Results 2 and 3 is the salon business name.</p>
<p><strong>But look at #4</strong>. The term is &#8220;wedding makeup&#8221;.</p>
<p>People are searching for that SPECIFIC service and finding my clients business. I can now go and create, and optimize for search, a specific page for &#8220;wedding makeup&#8221; on her website. Plus I will ensure that the Google Places listing contains more information for that service to ATTRACT MORE clients.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a FACT, direct from Google;</p>

</p><p>Today I want to tell you about Deanne&#8230; a beauty salon owner who wanted to get her salon business online. I met her 10 days ago and at that time she had absolutely NO internet presence. You wouldn&#8217;t have been able to find her business anywhere online.</p>
<p>But first, I want to explain to you why you should have a business website for your Salon or Spa.</p>
<p>If you own a business today your customers EXPECT you to have a web site and even be contactable by email.</p>
<p>To enjoy all the benefits the internet has to offer, <span style="text-decoration: underline;">your salon website must be able to be FOUND and ATTRACT.</span></p>
<p>But here&#8217;s where most get it wrong. They don&#8217;t design it to FIT the way the internet media is being used by the billions of people who access it each day. People use the internet to research products and services, <strong>to FIND relevant information.</strong></p>
<p>Many Salons &amp; Spa businesses have websites. But one of the biggest problems I find is that they&#8217;re not designed for their customers. Usually they&#8217;re designed by the owner, for the owner&#8230; to satisfy their creative ego!</p>
<p><strong>They don&#8217;t ATTRACT!</strong></p>
<p>Usually the websites full of rubbish&#8230; stuff the business owner THINKS visitors to the website want to know. And a big part of it is designed to show &#8220;look how great I am, look at me, i&#8217;m fantastic&#8221;</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s an example&#8230; (salon name has been removed). I just went and checked out one hair salon&#8217;s website where the main element presented to the website visitor was their business vision&#8230;</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Exclusive, personalized one on one service. Offering the most professional personalized and fashion forward advice in (removed) At (removed) you’ll arrive feeling at home and part of a family and be guided by a team that’s highly educated to ensure you leave breathless.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p><strong>What&#8217;s that supposed to mean?</strong> And is it designed to get the website visitor so &#8220;enthralled&#8221; that they then pick up the telephone, dial the number and announce &#8220;just this morning I woke up wanting to find a hair salon that had this Vision&#8230; please book me in!&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>I don&#8217;t think so!</strong></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s some of what website visitors really want to know;</p>
<ul>
<li>where are you</li>
<li>Are you open</li>
<li>What&#8217;s in it for me</li>
<li>Can I connect with you (phone, facebook)</li>
<li>Are people raving about you</li>
</ul>
<p>Couple of big things there&#8230; <strong>where are you, whats in it for me!</strong></p>
<p>I doubt that prospective clients will travel a great distance to try you out on their first visit&#8230; you must be convenient to where they are right now. <strong>Are you being FOUND in the right location?</strong></p>
<p>Are you offering anything that gets the visitor&#8217;s attention! New clients would be attracted to you for many reasons&#8230; they may need a new look, want a hair repair job, have a formal event coming up and want to look great, need a colour etc. <strong>Are you ATTRACTING?</strong></p>
<p>Having a website that fits what people are looking for is perhaps the cheapest, easiest way to grow your business. And it must be easy to find you in your particular area.</p>
<p><strong>So right now&#8230; what are YOU doing wrong!</strong></p>
<p>Ok, you might disagree with me for whatever reason. But understand&#8230; I&#8217;m talking from the view of your prospective client who right now is searching the internet looking for your particular service and is willing to pay you for your services.</p>
<p>So I don&#8217;t give two hoots if you disagree with me. You can be <em>&#8220;RIGHT&#8221;</em> if you want. I&#8217;ll continue to work with those who would rather make money based on what I have discovered really works for salons and spas on the internet.</p>
<p>Which brings me back to Deanne&#8230; a beauty salon owner who I met just 10 days ago who wanted to get her salon business online.</p>
<p>And today, just 10 days later&#8230; here&#8217;s what she has.</p>
<p>She now has a website for her business, that is now appearing in search engines, that may very soon be at the TOP, outranking all her competition for her particular geographic area.</p>
<p><strong>She is being FOUND!</strong></p>
<p>PLUS, she has a great big ATTENTION grabber for her website visitors that gives a STRONG reason for them to make contact with her business.</p>
<p><strong>She is ATTRACTING!</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s been kept simple (because business on the internet does not have to be complicated) and ALREADY she is getting results.</p>
<p><strong>All within 10 days!</strong></p>
<p>It doesn&#8217;t have to take months and months nor does it have to be expensive.</p>

</p><p>You go and invest a lot in a salon or spa website.. what&#8217;s next? Do you just sit back and hope (maybe pray) that it brings a horde of well-paying clients into your business?</p>
<p>Or do you give some thought on how best to actually make it work for you &#8211; how you can profit from the money you spent, just like you would with any other type of advertising media you may choose to invest in.</p>
<p>Your website can be a great marketing tool. <span style="text-decoration: underline;">But it&#8217;s only the beginning part of a complete online marketing system.</span></p>
<p>There are many parts to it. And if you DON&#8217;T take control of each part you may end up with just an expensive piece of internet real estate that no one can ever find!</p>
<p>Let me explain. And to help me do that you first need to understand what consumers are now doing.</p>
<p><strong>More and more consumers are going online to gain an opinion on a particular product, company or service.</strong></p>
<p>The internet has become very &#8220;social&#8221;. Imagine it to be like a <em>giant coffee shop</em> full of people who meet up and have something to say, maybe even gossip about.</p>
<p>And they &#8220;publish&#8221; this gossip all over the place. Take, for example, people complaining about a product or a service they have recently experienced &#8211; referred to as &#8220;negative opinions&#8221;.</p>
<p>These <em>negative opinions</em> are broadcast all over the internet. I&#8217;ve seen many salon and spa reviews that have been published on the internet that the business owner possibly has no idea about.</p>
<p>Check the Google Review below, written about a particular day spa&#8230; (note: this took me about 10 seconds to find when I searched for a day spa in a particular area)<br />

<p>And this comment has been published on the particular business&#8217;s Google directory listing&#8230; right under their business name&#8230; available for all to read.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll like this:  I rang this day spa and told them they had this negative review. Guess what&#8230; they didn&#8217;t know about it&#8230; and they didn&#8217;t really care.</p>
<p>The owner told me that they have many other clients really happy with their service. That&#8217;s great&#8230; unfortunately those clients don&#8217;t go and publish their opinions for all to see, unlike the negative ones.</p>
<p>Now, I agree with the owner&#8230; they shouldn&#8217;t be concerned about it as a reflection of their usual level of service.</p>
<p><strong>BUT&#8230; they are NOT their potential NEW clients!</strong></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">How much new business will they miss out on</span> from people who are searching on the internet for their particular service.</p>
<p>I think they&#8217;ll be losing a GREAT deal of new business! And that&#8217;s just from 1 negative review&#8230; what if there were many!</p>
<p>There is a way to fix this&#8230; but as the owner was not too concerned about it, nor about my &#8220;good samaritan&#8221; effort in telling them&#8230; I just told him to have a great day and hung up.</p>
<p>But back to my point: having a website is just one tiny piece of the internet puzzle. There are many more parts.</p>
<p><strong>But there&#8217;s good news&#8230;</strong> all of the &#8220;internet parts&#8221; don&#8217;t have to be in <em>perfect synch</em> for YOUR business to prosper on the internet.</p>
<p>You just have to get a few parts working right.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what I mean.</p>
<p>When I talk to many salon and spa owners about their &#8220;internet presence&#8221; they tell me they want to showcase all their services, show how great they provide these services, and then create something that reflects the fantastic ambiance of their business.</p>
<p>They want something all <em>&#8220;touchy and feely, warm and cuddly&#8221;</em>! Something they can impress their family and friends with and say &#8220;look how pretty my business is&#8221;.</p>
<p>And many of them want to be able to <em>SELL</em> everything on their website. From their services through to all their products.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s all great&#8230; and then I ask if they&#8217;ve got a budget of 20 thousand dollars plus to invest in their idea of their dream website, so that they can impress their family and friends.</p>
<p>Most salon and spa owners then start to get a <em>little twitchy</em> when I mention that figure! Because that&#8217;s what you could be spending if you go down the &#8220;touch, feely, warm and cuddly&#8221; path.</p>
<p><strong>Small business can&#8217;t afford that&#8230; it&#8217;s too risky on low margin services!</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s right then that I start to educate them in the fine arts of the internet world for small business. And I say to them;</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;what would you think of a website that could bring in 10 to 20 NEW clients per month, at a fraction of the cost I mentioned earlier. And this website did this month after month&#8230; without ever taking a day off!&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">It&#8217;s about creating a &#8220;low-cost&#8221; marketing tool that ATTRACTS new clients and has potentially very high returns that are easily measurable.</span> This is far more efficient for small business than spending $20,000 plus to impress your family and friends.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s about now they start to get a little interested&#8230; Remember when I said that you only have to get a few parts working right for your business to prosper.</p>
<p>All you have to do is create <em>&#8220;a website lead generation system&#8221;</em>. And to put it simply, <span style="text-decoration: underline;">that&#8217;s ALL your website needs to do.</span></p>
<p><strong>Consistently generate NEW leads that become NEW clients! I call it &#8220;Function over Form&#8221;!</strong></p>
<p><em>That&#8217;s where the MONEY is! </em>And as a small business owner, that&#8217;s what you should be focused on.</p>
<p>Yes, your website should look good&#8230; but the critical element is that it <em>&#8220;functions&#8221;</em> right.</p>
<p>But again, there are many parts to this internet jungle and over time you can work on that.</p>
<p><strong>Sometimes, having JUST a website is NOT enough!</strong></p>
<p>Many of my clients will testify to that. Most recoup their investment within 6 to 8 weeks when they combine their website with other internet marketing strategies.</p>
<p>Getting a few things right with this internet media will allow YOU to PROSPER.</p>
<p>Getting them wrong is like throwing your money down the drain. And it can be very expensive!</p>

</p><p>I&#8217;ve said it before and will continue to do so. If you&#8217;re in business, any kind of business, particularly in the salon and spa business, you simply cannot compete these days without a website.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not going to lay out the reasons why except to say that if you haven&#8217;t yet realized that your clients, and those NEW clients you want to get, SPEND a lot of time ONLINE, have discovered that all types of products and services are at their fingertips.</p>
<p>So if you&#8217;ve NOT got a website then you&#8217;d WANT to sort that out real quick.</p>
<p><strong>BUT&#8230; will any old website DO! And is it going to cost you a fortune to create and maintain?</strong></p>
<p>Well&#8230; the answer to both questions is NO! <span style="text-decoration: underline;">And in this article I&#8217;m going to prove it to you!</span></p>
<p>I&#8217;ve seen plenty of salon and spa websites&#8230; more than I&#8217;d want to think about. I&#8217;ve seen the &#8220;expensive&#8221; glossy looking websites and I&#8217;ve seen many that are just a complete waste of time.</p>
<p><strong>So&#8230; just any old website WON&#8217;T do!</strong></p>
<p>Your salon or spa website doesn&#8217;t have to be a work of creative genius, costing &#8220;tens of thousands&#8221; of dollars but it does have to WORK.</p>
<p>And by that I mean&#8230; it has to ATTRACT the visitor to TAKE ACTION! That could be filling out a form with their details or by telephoning your business.</p>
<p>And that means money in your bank account.</p>
<p>So let&#8217;s get on with the proof&#8230;</p>
<p>Kelly has a hairdressing salon. She&#8217;s spent a lot of time creating her website using a &#8220;template&#8221; web-builder system that costs a few dollars a month to subscribe to.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s coming up to the best time of the year for the Salon &amp; Spa business. It&#8217;s that time when your clients need to book weeks ahead to beat the Christmas rush.</p>
<p>For many, October through to December is the busiest time of the year. It&#8217;s the time when you reap and build up the bank account, ready for the sudden drop in business which follows the peak of December. January and February are tough months in this industry.</p>
<p>But I also want to tell you what else you&#8217;re up against this year.</p>
<p>Listen up.</p>
<p><strong>The latest news is that daily deal sites (those dreaded discount coupons) are experiencing rapid growth. For daily deal sites, business is booming. And that means more and more discount deals out there.</strong></p>
<p>Growth over the last 2 years has been massive. Daily Deal site databases have grown at a rapid pace. I&#8217;ll just about guarantee that a lot of YOUR clients have signed up to receive notification of these deals.</p>
<p><strong>And the Christmas period is when there are likely to be a flood of coupon deals in the salon and spa industry.</strong></p>
<p>Now you might <span style="text-decoration: underline;">not</span> be participating in the daily deals. You understand the problems&#8230; <strong>no profit, lousy clients.</strong></p>
<p>But there are some <em>struggling</em> salon and spa business owners out there that will participate. They&#8217;ll bring in a bunch of sales&#8230; and it will get them through Christmas, January and February. They may not make much profit or get great clients, but they WILL get the money they may need to continue to carry on their business.</p>
<p><strong>Let&#8217;s look at the facts&#8230;</strong></p>

<li>people spend MORE at Christmas time.</li>
<li>people are ALWAYS looking for great deals</li>
<li>a salon or spa experience IS a popular Christmas gift</li>
</ul>
<p>So if people have money to spend, want a great deal and want to buy a Christmas present&#8230; guess where they&#8217;ll be looking!</p>
<p><strong>At the latest daily deals flooding their email inbox.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>And that means they won&#8217;t be buying from YOU!</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>UNLESS&#8230; you can BEAT the discount coupon craze!</strong></p>
<p>I&#8217;m not telling you to take part in the crazy discount coupons&#8230; that&#8217;s madness &#8211; remember, NO profit, Lousy clients&#8230; BUT if you sit back and IGNORE what&#8217;s happening in the marketplace then I&#8217;d consider you as STUPID as those that do take part.</p>
<p>A bit harsh you think?</p>
<p>Yes it is&#8230; call it a &#8220;little dose of reality!&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Because IGNORING what&#8217;s happening is STUPID. I&#8217;ll guarantee that you&#8217;ll LOSE sales this Christmas if you just sit back and do the same old, same old!</strong></p>
<p>Unless you have a STRATEGY to do something a little different!</p>
<p>Because right now you have another competitor &#8211; the <em>Daily Deal websites</em>! Actually, they&#8217;re <em>scarier</em> than the other competing salon or spa down the street from you.</p>
<p>They&#8217;re <em>scarier</em> because they&#8217;re actively marketing fantastic deals to their database&#8230; on a daily basis. Your competing salon or spa up the road would be lucky to actively market once a year!</p>
<p><strong>So what are YOU going to do?</strong></p>
<p>Sit back, relax, put your head in the sand&#8230; hoping it will all just go away?</p>
<p>Or do something amazing to fight back at the crazy discount deals that are competing against you!</p>

</p><p>I&#8217;m always looking for the latest ideas on how to promote offers through your salon or spa website.</p>
<p>Keeping up to date helps you stay ahead. Visitors to your website want to see new information and if it&#8217;s different from everything else they see then you&#8217;ll likely get a better response.</p>
<p>So this latest idea for <strong>salon promotions</strong> I&#8217;ve created is a real <em>beauty</em>.</p>
<p>And the results that are being achieved supports what I&#8217;ve always said <em>&#8220;your website should always be evolving &#8211; testing different ways to improve a response&#8221;</em></p>
<p><strong>If you&#8217;re website hasn&#8217;t been updated or changed for some time then you&#8217;re just wasting the space your website is taking up.</strong></p>
<p>Yeh I know&#8230; you&#8217;ve been busy doing the same old stuff, changing the website is something you&#8217;ve been meaning to do. And I understand that talking to your web person can be tough work beacuse you can&#8217;t quite get across to them what it is you&#8217;re trying to achieve.</p>
<p>Not to mention the cost of doing all that. Web people can be expensive!</p>
<p>But that&#8217;s not what has been happening with the clients I work with.</p>
<p><strong>One change &#8211; 4 new clients in 2 days!</strong></p>
<p>Let me explain: I created this new idea, implemented it on my clients website and within 2 days, 4 new clients responded to the offer.</p>
<p>There was no promotion at all&#8230; no emails out, no one got told about it.</p>
<p>But it got 4 new clients! Each wanting to spend $139 in her hair salon.</p>
<p><strong>Do you want to know what I did?</strong></p>
<p>OK, here&#8217;s the details&#8230;</p>

I then asked the visitor to click on the coupon. They were taken to the special deal and then asked to buy it.</p>

<p><strong>And visitors actually purchased the deal!</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s only been up on the website for 2 days&#8230; what might the result be after 7 days?</p>
<p><strong>The coupon has some pretty cool features.</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>You can put a time limit on it that automatically counts down. So visitors see the coupon is &#8220;time-limited&#8221;</li>
<li>You can also restrict the number of coupons. If you want just sell 17 of them. This is called &#8220;scarcity&#8221;, designed to improve response.</li>
<li>the coupon is easily customizable. You can change the colours, change the text.</li>
</ul>
<p>It&#8217;s using your website as it should be used &#8211; a &#8220;live&#8221; promotional system that attracts visitors and then gets them to buy.</p>
<p><strong>But so many salon and spa owners get this WRONG! Are you one of them?</strong></p>

<p>Here&#8217;s the benefit: <em>Your listing stands out above all the other listings&#8230; attracting MORE clients.</em></p>

<p>So it&#8217;s fair to say that these listings out perform the other listings. Yes, #1 ranking is great, but a 5 Star listing <em>improves response.</em></p>
<p><strong>So how can you achieve a 5 star rating?</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s easy in principle&#8230; you just need 5 Google reviews from clients who have visited your business.</p>
<p><em>I say in principle because a client needs to know what they&#8217;re doing when creating the review.</em></p>
<p>They need to find your listing, log into their Google Account (if they have one) write out a review then publish it.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not so simple if you don&#8217;t know what you&#8217;re doing.</p>
<p>BUT, getting a written review is well worth it for the business owner.</p>
<p><strong>And I have a strategy and the instructions to do that&#8230;</strong> a way to make it easier for your clients to actually write a review.</p>

</p><p>Over the past few weeks it&#8217;s becoming increasingly evident to me <span style="text-decoration: underline;">that this mistake Salon &amp; Spa owners make</span> is the number 1 reason that their business may be struggling&#8230; maybe even going broke.</p>
<p>Many tell me that business is hard at the moment. Yes it can be! It requires you to get off your butt, take action, with strategies that adapt to the current economic client and the changing marketplace.</p>
<p>But still many are giving all sorts of reasons related to &#8220;outside&#8221; factors such as government policy, people not spending&#8230; all sorts of reasons outside the control of the Salon or Spa owner.</p>
<p>And it gives them some sort of justification to accept that business right now is just lousy&#8230; if everyone they listen to is saying it, then it must be true and it&#8217;s not their fault, so it&#8217;s OK to do nothing.</p>
<p>And to further prove my point&#8230; rumours abound that a popular salon/spa here in Perth is going broke fast and just about ready to close it&#8217;s doors&#8230; and this is after years of massive growth and 7 figures annual turnover.</p>
<p>God knows what their reasons are&#8230; but you could just about guarantee that they&#8217;re blaming something else out of their control rather than their own mis-management. What worked for them in the past is likely to still work now and in the future, but for some reason they no longer think it&#8217;s worthwhile or won&#8217;t work anymore.</p>
<p>Heaven forbid!</p>
<p>Anyway&#8230; what&#8217;s this big mistake salon/spa owners are making&#8230; what I referred to as the number 1 reason behind a struggling business?</p>
<p>OK&#8230; listen close. It&#8217;s not making effective use of your greatest asset you could ever have!</p>
<p><strong>And that is&#8230; your client list!</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s hard to think of any other business or industry out there that could benefit as much from an existing client list than the salon &amp; spa industry</p>
<p>Why? Because your clients keep WANTING your service every few weeks or so. I have never seen an industry such as yours&#8230; where the clients WANT to keep coming back as often.</p>
<p>It could be for hair styling, waxing, manicure, pedicure&#8230; whatever.</p>
<p>Your clients LOVE what you do for them&#8230; they love the pampering, they love the feeling they have when they leave. And the can&#8217;t wait to come back! <strong>Your industry will thrive regardless of the economic climate.</strong></p>
<p>So why is it that businesses like yours struggle, some even go broke?</p>
<p>Yes, it could be because your service is terrible&#8230; it could even be that you&#8217;re just a lousy business owner.</p>
<p>Fact is, if you&#8217;re starting to struggle after years of business being good then your clients are very likely going somewhere else!</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what you should be doing with your client list;</p>
<ol>
<li>You should be contacting them regularly, at least monthly, better yet, every week</li>
<li>You should be providing them with offers for your services and this offer should be irresistable.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>It&#8217;s simple, </strong>it&#8217;s worked in the past and will continue to work in the future.</p>
<p>Ignore this at your peril! It continues to amaze me how many Salon/Spa businesses do not contact their client list.</p>
<p>If for some reason Salon/Spa owners have a problem with this, then I draw your attention to the numerous Coupon deals that are being delivered to your clients email inbox on a daily basis.</p>
<p>And don&#8217;t ever think that they&#8217;ll ignore them because they are your valued loyal client. Eventually they&#8217;ll make use of one and likely that&#8217;s the last you&#8217;ll ever see of them.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t misunderstand me here&#8230; I&#8217;m not saying to start doing coupon deals. That is a strategy but it must be used effectively. Most who do it, do it completely wrong and lose money and clients.</p>
<p><strong>What I&#8217;m saying is that in the current marketplace you MUST adapt.</strong> And the #1 thing you should be doing is contacting your client list on a regular basis.</p>
<p>You adapt&#8230; or you go broke!</p>
<p>You should be using newsletters, emails, SMS, Facebook, your website and even direct mail.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m a fan of email, facebook and websites. It&#8217;s FREE to contact your client list, it&#8217;s instant and it works. My clients are now saying &#8220;I send an email and I make money&#8221;.</p>
<p><strong>So what&#8217;s stopping you from doing this?</strong></p>
<p>How many Salon/Spa businesses don&#8217;t collect important client details? It astounds me how many there are. For some reason these business owners have a problem with collecting this information. They think it&#8217;s intruding on their clients privacy.</p>
<p>And they have a problem contacting their client list regularly. They think their clients get annoyed with it.</p>
<p><strong>You need to get over it&#8230; and you need to do it quickly.</strong> Stop making excuses!</p>
<p>Because many of these clients who you think are being annoyed are receiving 3 or 4 offers per day from the coupon sites&#8230; because they ASKED for it!</p>
<p>They LOVE it. And they are the first to tell their friends of the great deal they got today.</p>
<p>So you need to adapt&#8230; or you&#8217;ll go broke!</p>
